Country Club was a really fun project. I recently moved to Warren, RI and was still working as a letter carrier.
The album was made using Korg Gadget on an iPad.

I Miss Flash
I’ve always been drawn to pixel art. Being born in the 1980s, i was raised on pixel based game design. I loved legos and pixel art was a digital version of them. When i was in high school, i learned to “access” certain design programs. I used photoshop for my pixel work. I got a copy of flash and fell in love with vector design. Having the ability to scale graphics to any size was a game changer. Making vector graphics in flash allowed for me to get into screen printing.

The Downhill Big Wheel video was a proof of concept trailer i did with Paul Erickson Jr. We would usually meet up at Empire Tea & Coffee in Newport, RI and try to work out working scripts for future projects. The video above is our first collaboration.

Necropolis 28 Board
Explorations with Acetone
I recently finished a board to play Necropolis 28 on. The dimensions are 16” x 16” making it a very approachable board for terrain building beginners. This was my third attempt at a game board and the first one i completed. I used this project to try some new terrain building techniques and materials.
The original goal for this project was to make a simple 16”x16” board to figure out the rules of Necropolis 28.
I started the project with some “sprue goo” experiments. Sprue goo is made by putting the extra material from model kits (sprues) into acetone. The sprues eventually get to workable state that similar in texture to a wet dough. I made a simple structure and a solid wall out of sprues and sprue goo.
I used some pink foam board to build up walkways and give a base to the sprue terrain i made. I used an old metal tea container as a “crematorium” and planned on burning incense in it. I used popsicle sticks to build bridges and platforms. I took a few weeks to build out the rest of the layout using a variety of materials.
I decided to use more sprue goo to try and make some walkways. I used two skewers to make a basic structure and just stretched the sprue goo all over the skewers. This resulted in a dried molten earth look. I cleaned up the gaps with some gap filler. I also added a bit of scatter terrain that was also made of sprue goo.
I was talking on the Necropolis discord and one of the members suggested i paint the stretched sprue goo in a body horror style. I was extremely happy with my execution of that suggestion and it really tied the board together.
This was my third attempt at building a board and it’s the only one that’s been completed. I am a big fan of the “diorama” sized boards because they are easier to store and are more manageable projects.

I am very happy with the final result of this board and I’m looking forward to playing on it. I would like to make a board entirely out of sprues and sprue goo in the future.
